Today when I was walking down to the boathouse for practice I noticed the first signs of fall. lying on the 67th step was a leaf. It was turning yellow and I realized that Fall is upon us. The step was mostly bare but for the leaf and a bit of dirt, a few pine needles, and one lonely wet slug.
"The 67th Step" staircase down to the boathouse
As I was walking down to the boathouse this morning I realized how long it had been since I last took a moment to observe. When I was standing there I realized how tired I truly was. I am so tired I honestly don't know if im in pain or not. I THINK my legs hurt. But honestly I'm not sure anymore. I am kind of past the point of feeling pain. I'm tired. The leaves were really pretty. My legs are tired. All the colors: green, orange, red, yellow, and brown. My arms hurt. the carpet of leaves is crunchy. My back hurts. There is a slow drip of water from the foliage above me onto the leaves below. I think im hungry but honestly I think I am so hungry that I don't feel hungry anymore. There is fog swirling between the tree stumps rolling down the hill.
