As fall begins to approach, the trees lose their leaves. Those leaves remind me of seasonal or temporary friends that we pick up over the year, but once things get chilly, they fade away silently.

Noticing this pillar and how it has held up the entire shed through all the years, I am reminded of our parents holding us up as long as they could. Unfortunately, these pillars begin to peel off and weaken, just like the wrinkles I notice on Dad's face. These moments bring me a sense of gratitude for the support I've always had and remind me to appreciate the moment.

Noticing the tree, I feel as if it's giving all its love to the leaves, turning them red. These leaves hold on to the tree as long as they can, like memories we love and fight to hold on to, but eventually, things must fall.

On my way to class, I notice the flowers crumbling. Giving me a sense just like the one you get while sitting next to a bonfire in the cold. Holding onto every feel of warmth in the winter.
